Base and Case
Base and Case are the finishing touches to any room. Functionally they are a remarkable transition from wall to floor, door, or window. From a design perspective, they can set the tone of the entire space.
The larger sizes are generally used for base trim along the floor, and the narrower width of the same pattern is used around doors and windows. The larger 3 ¼” size can also be used around doors and windows for a dramatic effect.
Crowns
Crown is an essential design element that is sometimes omitted when trimming a room. Its impact can be anything from subtle to profound. It can provide a gentle accent when smaller sizes are used. Larger-sized crowns can make a grand impression. Crowns make such an essential contribution to the feeling of a room that they should not be overlooked even when cost is a consideration.
Panel & Applied Moulds
Taking a step beyond the ordinary sometimes requires the correct details. Panel moulds can bring just the touch to cabinets and paneling or provide a decorative edge to just about any sheet good or other slightly raised surfaces. Applied moulds can be used the same way, except they have a flat back and can be applied to flat surfaces. Applied mould can also be used as chair rails, to edge wallpaper borders, or as added detail to other moldings.
